Now here I go again

 "I haven't heard from you in a while," Yuki winced, but she'd already sent the text. She didn't mean to forget Jen. There was always something to do with Zelli these days, like meeting Zelli's colleagues and friends and going places on her motorcycle. Sometimes, Zelli showed up to spend time with her during the week.

"I bet you've been busy," Jen's text woke Yuki's phone. She blinked at the text. What could she say?

"I know, I'm just too old for you." Jen punched in another text before Yuki could think what to say.

"Don't say that," Yuki text right away. Maybe Zelli was just taking a big chunk of her time. But Axton and Emily were spending more time together. Maybe it was meant to be. Yuki then confessed that her friends had set her up with Zelli.

"But she's so different from me," Yuki said she wasn't sure if she was one of those people who needed to be on the go all the time.

"But you like her and you're close to the same age." Jen sounded as if she'd been there. "You have to see where it goes."

"Maybe." Suddenly, Yuki felt a little sad. She wasn't sure if she talked this much to Zelli. "It's just I haven't told her everything. I mean, I'm pretty much of a wallflower and I went through a long unrequited thing with Remi before she ever figured out I really loved her." Somehow she felt guilty about that now. Maybe she was still beating herself up about it. 

"You need to make time to tell her about old loves, your goals, and what's happened," Jen told her. "I get that feeling that you need to be with someone who's going to take you on an adventure. I've had that. And I wouldn't want to take that away from anyone. I've also lost that person too and it's not as easy as it used to be. I'm beginning to think I might like being alone."

Her words brought Yuki to tears. It was even hard for her to catch her breath. "Let's have lunch again," Yuki wrote back. "This time it's on me."

"Oh, I dunno. I'd hate to bother you, aren't you two in a relationship, in any way," Jen confessed.

"It won't be a bother, really." Yuki did want to see Jen again. Just to talk. 

"All right." Jen texted back.

Yuki sighed. This wasn't wrong, was it? Yuki asked herself. She didn't think it would be a big deal. It was just lunch. After she paced a bit in her room, she decided she'd just open that jar of raspberry gelato from the freezer in the kitchen. Of course, she thought she might hurt herself trying to open it after she found it. 

Luckily, Axton was there to save the day. He opened it with ease. "Thanks," Yuki smiled. "I'm glad you're around."

"Maybe you need to tell Em that," Axton chuckled. He went back to the dishes. It was as if he was in trouble of some kind.

"What did you do this time?" Yuki looked at him as if Emily treated him like her misguided child for the most part.

"I made fun of some chick on Gilmore Girls," he smirked as he was putting away dishes from the dishwasher.

"Oh, that'll learn you," Yuki nodded.

"I bet if we ever had a kid we'd have to name it Rory." Axton sighed.

Yuki just stared at him wondering if this was a secret omen of some kind. She got a soup spoon to eat her gelato.
