I'm on the comedown speed

Amy was with them once again. Yuki knew from that look of Amy's that she wished Axton was here. He would take her to the nearby basketball court to work on her layups and dribbling. Of course, Jen always had something work related to do. And never stayed past an hour or two.

"What is she trying to do?" Emily had asked, but then Yuki got the phone call from Rylie so at least there was something to do.

Although, she knew Amy and Emily would rather be working on how to build a bunk bed for her Barbies. Naturally, Amy had been reluctant to even look at Emily's old dolls, but the two had connected and Emily was showing Amy so many hand stitches to make handmade things even Yuki didn't know Emily was this kind of creative. Usually, she just tidied up and watched Gilmore Girls, but maybe she was secretly designing doll clothes in her head.

So they spent a good portion of the afternoon making a Barbie room just for Amy. Emily even found a cheap Barbie while they were at Ross'. It wasn't exactly a popular made-to-move, but it was posable. "We got it at a steal." She said it was twice as much on Amazon. Yuki helped build a couch while the other two worked on mattresses to put in a photo box to create twin beds.

"I can't believe I'm even doing this," Amy smiled after a while. Of course, Emily went to get cucumber sandwiches and they had a tea party once they looked at their finished room. Still, there was time to get ready for Melissa and Rylie's dinner party.

On the drive down, Amy mentioned one of her favorite shows "It Takes Two." Her favorite character was Brooklyn. "She has dreds like Axton."

Emily smiled and went on her phone to look it up. "Oh, I think this is the doll to get." She showed her what she'd found at Amazon. "I'll buy it for you," Emily assured her it would be here by next weekend.

Yuki wanted to laugh, but she knew Emily was serious and she was happy she and Amy at least shared this passion. Even if Amy was a bit on the fence. "My friends are gonna think I'm crazy."

Of course, Rylie and Melissa weren't so sure what to do with a pre-teen. After all, they were ready to wine and dine. Naturally, Yuki and Emily declined to partake of the spirits.

  3. Aw, tea party = fun. Amy coming along might throw R and M for a loop. And I think it's nice how Emily spent time with Amy.

  10. I love how you tied in your own Barbie adventures! This paragraph is so fun, especially Yuki's realization that Emily is a closet Barbie creative:
