All the lights are coming on now

 

"Are you done yet?" Brick practically yelped and Harley had to hold in a laugh.

"It's been that hard on you, has it?" She looked him in the eye, wondering if she babied him too much. She always did her best to check in with him on those weekends she was away with KC and Rafe. Honestly, it had been a blast and she wasn't thinking about Kimmy being in her life. After all, Kimmy had her Rafe and well, she didn't worry about that crowd.

"Really, it's been good for me," she locked her arm around his as they took a stroll at the mall. It was cool here and the window shopping was very inspiring. Although, she would shop her closet first. After all, she liked to upcycle what she had when she could. "I can't say I want to be a star, but I like the behind-the-scenes stuff, you know."

"Oh really," of course, he was in a pout. "What are you going to do?"

She sighed. Would he ever be OK with KC around?

"Stop worrying," she smirked. "Unless, you want to be in his band."

"He needs someone?" He was serious.

"Maybe," she shrugged. Oh, if it would work it would be like a miracle, but she didn't see KC wanting anything from Brick. "But you've got basketball."

"I can do it." He looked at her. "I can actually sing, you know." He held his head high as if he'd with-held this information from her, until now.

"Oh really?" She had to chuckle. "Well, we do have that open mic coming up and I'm afraid Rafe is shaking in his boots. You'd have to sing in front of a fierce crowd."

"I'm fine with that. I'd do anything to make sure, you..you aren't overdoing it." He held on to her hand now. He was never letting go.

Harley bit her bottom lip. Oh, it might be a volcano before it was over, but what was she supposed to do to keep the peace?
