"Are you sure you really want, you know..um.." Boone was a little miserable to even think about it. Especially to say it to Phil. "To move in with Lexi?"
Phil was so quiet. Maybe he didn't even like her at all. Maybe it was so wrong. Of course, he couldn't talk about this to Lily either or she might think he was weird too which went back to the flashback of Alfie thinking he and Phil had a thing for each other.
"What..what else can I do?" Phil was scrubbing on a pot in the sink. He never let Boone do the dishes. After all, Boone spent his sweaty days in the back of the bakery with a hot oven. Yes, it did feel he'd been sentenced to a labor camp some days.
"Well, just tell her no." Boone snapped as he put a dish away. "I mean, this is your apartment."
"Should she move in here?" Phil looked back at him as if was full of worry and didn't want to make the wrong move.
"Of course not." Boone stared at him as if he was just her puppet. "Just tell her no."
"I can't." Phil bit back.
"You won't." Boone swelled a frown.
"I love her."
"Why don't you marry her then." Boone didn't see this coming. Why hadn't he broken them up when he had a chance? He didn't want to live with anybody else.
"I will."
"When?" Boone practically yelped. "We just moved in together."
"We've had all summer."
Boone sighed. He didn't know what to think. "But..but I like living with you." It was that simple. Purely plutonic. Phil was his best friend. Boone took over scrubbing the burnt pan. "What were you trying to make anyway?"
"Spaggatti for you."
"Spaghetti?" Boone made a look of disgust. "When was that?" He didn't remember eating any.
"I took it to Lexi's when it burnt. She put some vinegar and sugar in it and it was fine." Evidently, he'd eaten it with her.
Boone sighed once more. Yes, it looked like he would be looking for a roommate soon. It felt like an end of an era.
Hi Ellie,
ReplyDeleteyou're always so nice in your comments on my blog that I'm sorry I don't understand your creative stories and dialogues between the characters as well! I hope they get married, that's still a very romantic project!
Kisses and have a good week!
Great job. Regine

ReplyDeleteInteresting plot of strange occurrences. Poor Phil.
Sometimes, souls are meant to enter our lives to change it.
Changes happen all the time.
ReplyDeletelol Phil took the lasagna to Lexi's. Poor Boone heh. It is hard though sometimes to know how you feel, communication is so important. Why hadn't he broken them up though? Yikes.
ReplyDeletelife is dynamic..... we should adapt the changes
ReplyDeleteOoh, not a good look for Boone! Then again, I appreciate that he's a bit blindsided. It's not easy to lose your best bro and roommate to his lady love. The "I love her."-"Why don't you marry her." dialogue is so clever, cutting to the, ahem, heart of the matter, but also injecting your always-well-timed levity.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fabulous collage; I love all the fiery patterns! ๐งก๐๐ฅ๐งก๐๐ฅ
I hope that the parade at the library was a good one. I know I say this all the time, but you could write a book about that place. Then again, maybe you are . . . ๐๐๐๐๐๐
Pobre Boone parece que le tocara adaptarse a los cambios. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeletesometimes it is hard to choose betwen your buddy and your love
ReplyDeleteSpaghetti is great :D
ReplyDeleteI didn't even know you could do that to spaghetti...duly noted:D And so much juiciness going with Boone and Phil and Lexi...can't wait to see what's gonna happen!
ReplyDeletePS I've never tried face oil before because I break out so easily but I've heard great things about using it! I should really give it a go. I read jojoba oil is amazing for the face!
So that is the plot …
ReplyDeleteThis scene is very complicated
