Sunday the 13th

Was it all coming to term in the Universe? Remi looked up from the counter at the drugstore and saw Emily and Yuki together.

She'd thought about this day from time to time. How would she react? Oh, she knew it was best to act like she didn't know them. After all, she told Wolf everything about Yuki and Emily too. He'd said she'd feel better if she talked about it.

Of course, at the time, she didn't think he was right, but now it felt as if she could go on. Maybe that was how reality worked. Talking about the past just to put it behind you. True, Remi had a lot to say. Why did she talk so much? Of course, she never talked enough at the most important times. Yes, she knew she still had a lot to learn about herself. Funny, she always imagined every day she was just a science experiment with new consequences.

But Wolf somehow slowed down these relapses of hers to the point she had let it go. She could smile now. Although, he wasn't one to ever ask much of her. It was the little things in life that made each day sweet. And maybe they would never have a lot, but they had enough.

She smiled as if she was ready to do her job. Oh, she didn't want to look at Yuki. It wasn't easy. She kept her eye on Emily. "And how are you?" She asked if they were glad the hot weather was over. Hopefully, they were getting to the Farmer's market these days. She mentioned one that she liked to go to on a Wednesday afternoon. "Less crowded, you know. I wonder if many know about it." Well, she'd advertize it then as if she had nothing better to do.

She noticed Yuki's glare. Emily smiled back with, "We're good. How are you?"

"Oh, I got a dog now." She told them. Of course, she might as well have been talking about Wolf, but she wouldn't let on. "He's got me well trained. You know, I don't know a thing about dogs, but thank God, someone did. He just needed a home." She nodded.

Remi took care of scanning their rewards card and the items they were buying. Much of the stuff was cheap headbands and stretchy socks.

"What in the world are you gonna do with all this stuff?" Remi found herself happy. She looked at both of them.

"Doll clothes." Emily nodded.

"Really?" Remi kept smiling. It was good to be quaint. Honestly, she didn't know she would like this feeling this much.

  7. Oh good for Remi! That's great that she has Wolf. What he said was right. Talking about it would help her:)
And thanks so much for the lovely blog comment as always, Ellie! The Blues Music Festival sounds awesome. Do let us know if you get the chance to go. And our family are trying to spend as much time together before the end of summer. Sept will be crazy!

  8. Remi is really maturing! I'm so glad that she has Wolf to confide in and that she can laugh at herself:

"Funny, she always imagined every day she was just a science experiment with new consequences."

Such a great line! It was good to see her get through waiting on Yuki and Emily without an outburst, too. And even to go so far as to think that it's quaint they're making doll clothes.

Speaking of which, congrats on making that Barbie sweatshirt! Even if, as you say, you may have to eventually cut it off. The part about you already having snipped some hair made me think of Weird Barbie. 🎀😁👕🎀😁
