It's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me

Joon and Poppy got a house. "Why don't you move into our old place?" They'd said to Joon's  parents who Bom shared (Her dad was married to his mother.) Joon's apartment was right across from where Bom and her family lived.

Somehow Bom felt paralyzed about the matter. It was happening. Of course, Keanu treated them as if they were his very own grandparents and was elated they would be across the hall. He'd still see his dear sweet Naih because she would still have her toys there and would spend every weekend with them.

Honestly, Bom was exhausted. Who had entertained them endlessly during the nuptials? She drove them everywhere. The parents didn't drive. There was no need to where they were from. They lived in a neighborhood back home that had everything they needed. Yet, they were up to migrating here from Seoul. This was where their family was.

It was a mix bag of feelings. She was a mother of two with a husband who was still practically her first child. Oh, when they were alone her parents still had a million questions about Brian.

1. What's wrong with him? Does he even talk?

2. I can't believe Keanu is even his son? They are nothing alike.

3. Where's Keanu's mother?

Needless to say, Bom was frazzled, still working and Brian of course was always looking for more hours to work. He was no help at all.

She didn't have any good answers for them.

"I wish someone would help me, you know," Bom mentioned to Ivy when she did come by to visit Keanu. She'd always thought they were family but recently Ivy had let her down.

"Help you with what?" Ivy squinted about the matter. After all, she had her hands full with Angel and she never saw her and Jay's baby unless she was here.

"I don't know," Bom felt hopeless. She'd waited for years to see her parents. However, she knew she was better off to be on her own with Brian. After all, she would have never come to the States if it wasn't for Joon. Although she couldn't admit it now, she'd always thought of him as her first love (which was long before their parents married).

It felt like now she'd just been a thorn in Joon's side, and maybe this was all she deserved.

"Well, good luck," Ivy was mute on the subject.

Bom only nodded. Yes, she knew she and Ivy were no longer close. She wouldn't ask why.

"You can use them, you know," Ivy shrugged about the matter.

"Use them?" Bom squinted. In her chest, it felt as if a knife was digging in deep with emotion.

"Yeah, let them take Keanu and River for the weekend." Ivy grinned. "Then maybe they could take Angel, and you know..we could go shopping or something."

Bom sighed. She would never be that kind of daughter.

  2. I believe that we must psychologically work on low self-esteem, so as not to let all the problems in the world fall on us.

  3. Tough situation for Bom. Lots of thoughts and resentments. And Ivy being so blase about it isn't helping lol. Being close to Joon and Poppy maybe doesn't help either. Culturally it sounds like maybe her parents too are looking askance at her husband a bit if he has some issues

  5. Totally understand why Bom is feeling overwhelmed. Ivy is right. She should let her parents babysit so she can have a break! :)
Hope you're having a great Monday so far, Ellie:)

  6. Hello,
Looking after a baby all day can be an exhausting task for any mum and that doesn't mean she's a bad mum, she just needs some time for herself too!

  7. Poor Bom! Her parents-slash-in-laws seem daunting, the tension between her and Joon is sad, and Ivy just seems to make everything worse. I hope that she and Joon can reconnect and work through some of these issues. Oh, and you know I love this title. Even now, I still sometimes hear Swifty in my head when I suspect that I'm the one causing the problems . . . 😏🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵
