Only you

Amy just couldn't take another minute of this holiday vacation. She'd been nice all the Christmas holiday. Of course, most of it was spent at Yuki's. Yes, it was a crowded house. So much coupling, Amy supposed.

Even Axton was with Chili and that just didn't seem right to Amy. Somehow, she was wishing all along she could have her crush all to herself. That was not happening.

She was stuck with Eli. It wasn't like she hated him, but she knew him. She knew very well of his impish ways. But he was there, never saying much. Of course, he got her a white elephant gift, pink fuzzy snakes jumped right out of that pretty box. She tossed it to him and gave him a go-to-hell look, but of course, she said nothing. Not until now.

Not until she realized what her dad was doing. Her mom was going to be at their house all of Amy's holiday vacation. How could he?

"What the hell are you trying to do?" Amy whisper-shouted that morning in the kitchen while her Dad was making coffee and evidently bringing her mother waffles in bed. Amy gave him the bug eye with her hands on her hips.

"Amy, how could say such a thing," He squinted. He went into a spin about how it was snowing and the roads were bad.

"The roads are just fine," Amy snapped. "It didn't come a blizzard. Why would you let her stay?"

"Because she's your mom," her father looked at her blankly. "We might not be together, but I will always respect her. She's your mom and..and I-"

Amy swelled tears in her eyes. She knew he deserved better. He always had. Why did he keep doing this? Waiting for Miss Indifferent to insult him about something.

"She doesn't like us. Don't you know?" Amy sniffed tears.

"Don't say that," he said her mother loved her in her own way.

"No, she doesn't." Amy never believed that. Despite seeing her mother every time she looked in the mirror, she couldn't wait for the day they didn't have to speak to each other.

"You two can make up," he shook his head, as if didn't she know this was her chance.

"Nothing is gonna change," she shook her head no. "I don't want her here."

"Don't say something you'll regret," he told her. Of course, he hurried to set her mother's plate, a waffle with cherry pie filling and Cool Whip along with a slice of bacon.

Amy just watched. After he left she poured herself a cup of coffee. She took a sip in disgust. Yes, she needed milk in it, after all.

  9. Oh, boy. I guess it isn't a merry Christmas for Amy after all. Which makes sense, because the holidays always ignite family tensions. I hope she finds some peace. And a bite of that delicious breakfast! 🍒🧇🥓
