"Hold up, wait a minute," Eli wasn't even ready for a day at the roller skating rink. Yes, as luck would have it they were all booked at the ice skating rink and it was finally winter. "I need to shower and change."
He let Amy into the living room. Honestly, they were home alone. His parents were at work.
Eli couldn't help but to be an arse around her. He thought of himself as more of an ask hole, but that was beside the point. He didn't really have a point to anything.
She looked restless. It was all so strange. What was going on?
"Wasn't I supposed to come around to get you?" Of course, they would walk down the street to Junie's where they would meet with Darry, and then Maddie would drop them off at the rink. He hated to admit he didn't know how to skate. There were a lot of things he didn't know how to do, but he mowed lawns and shoveled snow. However, it was still warm and there wasn't anything to shovel.
"Just get ready," Amy didn't smile she looked upset.
"What's the matter," he came too close in his stinky socks and his old black sweat pants. He looked at her brightly as if maybe she could sense his pharms and might drop into some kind of passion.
"Why do you care," Amy was in a pout.
"You're my partner aren't you?"
"Can't you read my mind," she looked mad. Of course, he came back with a laugh. She smelled so minty fresh. Really, she did have nice teeth. He didn't know why other guys made fun of him when he said stuff like that. But it was true. And those curls just made him swoon.
He cleared his throat. He did want to sniff his breath.
"Maybe," Eli wanted to crack up. He wanted to say something like, "Aren't you happy to see me? You came all this way."
He tried to nurse the corner of his. His right eye winked. The thought of his cousin giving him a French kiss accidentally one New Year's Eve crossed his mind. Only he didn't remember it well. He was six then. She was a little sloshed at the time and was thinking of her college boyfriend. She said that's why it happened and he was to never speak of it. And he hadn't.
It was now or never just like that old song. It felt like he might be in his own TV show and no one was going to say, "CUT!"
Oh, it was a nibble on her lip. She nibbled back. It was just one circle of a dance, then another and another until they found the groove of each other. But it was happening, and with tongue. It made him dizzy. They fell onto the couch. She was on top of him.
This was so much better than Christmas. "God, why haven't we been doing this all the time," he wanted to say. No, he just held on. There was no worry about chapped lips. They may not have to text all the time, after all.
Ooh a little passion going on here. They may not make it to the rink
