I used to think maybe you loved me now baby I'm sure

Cedric had never seen Dory this happy, but he held up the driver's license with glee and Cedric was there every step of the way.

It was kind of a funny story, when they got to the place to take the test, Cedric thought it would be their luck that it was closed. After all the roads were snow-packed, but Dory had driven around town on those winter roads as well as the interstate. Yes, they just kept going. Dory had his mind set on this goal as if he would certainly be a working citizen if he had a driver's license. Cedric had all the paperwork they needed. It was certainly a cold start to the morning. So gray and a negative wind chill to face.

But the old sedan just kept going. And there was someone to test Dory's skills.

"God, I'm so glad it's over with," Dory grinned and hugged Cedric as if he was his true life partner. It made Cedric dizzy.

Dory wanted to get to the bakery to celebrate with Boone. Cedric nodded and let Dory drive home. Soon enough, they met up with Axton and Chili to help celebrate with Boone. It might have been cold outside but it was warm in the bakery with plenty of coffee and donuts.

"What are we celebrating?" Someone asked. Cedric turned to see Stan who was there to pick up some strawberry muffins. "Are you two getting married?"

It was quiet for a second or two. Cedric cleared his throat, but he let Dory tell the news about getting his driver's license. Stan gave him a pat on the back. Dory kept smiling. "It could happen, you know."

Cedric looked at him as if Dory must be delirious.

"Well, Amy's mother is staying with us," Stan nodded. "None of us saw that coming." He held in a laugh. "Lots of surprises might be in store in twenty-four."

"This snow has certainly surprised me," Cedric said. "I can't remember it being this bad these last few years around here."

"It was a long time coming," Stan told him as he grabbed a coffee. Of course, as Cedric listened, he wondered if they were really talking about snow, or was it Amy's mother?

Maybe Stan needed them too.

"I was thinking of making some Italian tonight, you guys should come," Cedric offered. He looked to Boone, "Would that be OK?" Because it would happen at Dory and Boone's place which was nearby. Of course, Boone smiled with a nod. He could bring home some rolls.

  7. Hooray for Dory! Learning to drive wasn't easy for him, which I could relate to. Of course, Stan asking them if they were engaged was a bit awkward. But also maybe another ray of, dare I say, sunshine? I love the reference to Katrina and the Waves; that's one of my favorite songs. I also love these lines:

As always, so deep and so clever. 🚗🌞🎵🚗🌞🎵
