Traveled down that road before

 Remi hated to tell Em this wasn't strange for Melissa, but she held her tongue and listened to Em talk of Riley and Melissa's troubles.

"A part of me, would love to talk to her," she said over a cup of herbal tea. Watching Em with baby Rory who slept so soundly, Remi kept smiling. "But I just wouldn't." Remi knew it was too late for that. "I mean, we were young back then and..and maybe if I hadn't been so crazy." That was the best way she could put it. "But she was kind of crazy too." She sighed. "Look, if they loved each other so much, I think they would be married by now. So maybe..maybe this needed to happen."

"But Yuki and I aren't married," Em pointed out ever so seriously and she held the baby close to her heart.

"It'll happen," Remi told her. "I hear Yuki talking to Brandon about it. She wants him to make the wedding cake."

Em sighed as if she had to do something about Melissa and Riley.

"It's not your fault." Remi gave her the eye. "You had a baby. You are the best. Sure, somebody like Riley is going to be inspired. We can only do so much for our friends."

Remi knew she and Melissa could never be friends. She probably couldn't be friends with Riley either, but she was OK with that. She could at least be here for Em.

"Just focus on your happiness with Yuki and Rory," she told her.

"But there's Axton." 

Em looked a little down about that.

"I thought he got his job back," Remi had heard it through the grapevine, perhaps while having lunch at the Coffee shop. 

Em nodded but said he was worried. "He's afraid it'll happen again."

"But he's got friends there," Remi told her. "They'll look out for him. Besides, wasn't it Chili's ex who made up that stuff?"

"But they took it so seriously. I mean, a real investigation." Em sounded as if she wished he'd find another job.

Remi only smiled at her. "It's good to hear you are worried about him, but it's not easy keeping a job these days, for some of us. I'm sure he's got his guard up. You just keep giving this bundle of joy all your love."

Still, she wondered if Em thought she should be working, instead of staying home. She hoped that wasn't the case.
