Izzy stayed up all night with Lily. Thankfully, she found where she was staying, a studio in the apartment complex where Izzy lived. She wanted to take Lily to the ER, but of course, Lily had a fit about that. Lily promised it wasn't anything illegal. Although, Izzy still didn't believe her.
It was sad to see her this way. "You know, you're such a beautiful girl, why would you do something like this?" Izzy had to ask why she thought drugs were the answer.
Of course, Lily didn't have an answer for her.
"I just wished you loved yourself," Izzy told her. "How can you love anyone, if you don't love yourself first."
Lily wept as if she didn't want to figure it out.
"You need to spend some time with yourself, find out what is it that you really want," Izzy knew it would be a struggle, but she needed to do it on her own.
Lily talked of her father. How he used to be on drugs.
"And you want to be just like him?" Izzy wanted to know.
"Of course, not," Lily broke down in tears as if Izzy was the worst.
Izzy talked about drugs in her own family. She'd had an Aunt that could never get her act together. She was always high or either in jail. "It's not a good situation for you or your family. Especially, when they can't keep up with their phone or their purse and you never know if they are OK."
Lily nodded. She knew this. She was a smart girl. She said she knew she'd made some mistakes. She was so close to being married and she hardly knew the guy. "He seemed nice."
She said she knew she would be the one faking it, and it would just be wrong.
"It's OK, I'm glad you are here. It's where you should be." Izzy talked about how she should think of her education. "I know you can do this, we've seen how far you've come. Just take one day at a time, and take care of you."
Izzy still wasn't sure Lily believed her, but at least there was tomorrow. A new day.
