Boone was doing his best to make sure his mother Tammy had a good Mother's Day. Unfortunately, she wasn't impressed with the strawberry and angel food cake he'd brought her. He even brought the KETO whipped cream in a can with ZERO SUGAR.
"I know she's so excited about the grandbaby, but I think something else is going on, too."
He didn't mean to sound down about it, but he wasn't sure where her mind was these days. Maybe it was finding a new place. Yet, seeing his adopted mom with Dad must have hurt.
"She didn't say anything to him," he mentioned to Maddie when they got home and crashed on the couch.
Yes, it felt like the Baby Lovefest went on for days. They did give Alfie and Zoey a lot of time to spend with the newborn.
"But she kept talking to your mom like they might be old Sorority sisters, or something. She seemed to like her a lot," Maddie said it would probably take his dad and mom a while to get used to one another again.
"I know," he nodded about the matter. "I'm not sure that's exactly it, though."
He sighed, thinking about how Naoki was during this family celebration. Tammy was being testy around Naoki. And Boone was beginning to think Tammy felt he could do no wrong, while everything Naoki did was wrong.
"What do you mean?" Maddie looked at him as if she was too tired to think about much. She yawned and her stomach grumbled so she went to the kitchen to turn on the electric kettle and got out some bread to make cheese toast.
"I guess I have to try harder to get to know Naoki. I don't really want to, and I know Alfie won't. I mean, he doesn't have the time, right now." Boone shrugged and followed Maddie to the kitchen to find the p the microwavable tomato soups. No way did he feel like opening a can of soup to heat on the stove when he knew he could be sleeping about now.
Maddie nodded and said maybe they should invite Naoki over. She would help as much as she could to get to know Naoki. She said she knew what it was like to be left out of the family.
Boone yawned more as he hugged himself. "Who knows, maybe he doesn't need us at all."
At least that was the feeling he was getting from Tammy's adopted son.
Great post 😊

Interesting
ReplyDeleteBetween Jon & I we only have one family member left, my brother. Reading all this intrigue I'm quite relieved we do, I couldn't cope with having to please so many people! xxx
ReplyDeleteIf you knew my family history you'd have plenty of material and inspiration to write about! But you can also twist the story very well!
ReplyDeleteI wish you a wonderful week of inspiration to continue this story!
Oh, family always gives us a lot of material to write about (✿◡‿◡)
DeleteVery nice.
ReplyDeleteSon una linda pareja. te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteEstou igual a Maddie, com o estômago roncando!
ReplyDelete◉_◉ Bom restinho de semana!
I'm just like Maddie, with my stomach growling!
Delete◉_◉ Good rest of the week! ❤️🧡🌸 Yes, I'm afraid I am always hungry too!
I don't know how I would be around someone that my bio mom adopted, especially, if she gave me up for adoption. I am sure there must be some issues, but if anyone can handle it, I think it's Boone.
ReplyDeleteI think Boone should worry so much about his mother. Sometimes we cannot influence others. We have to let them be. I wonder if Tammy even appreciates what he does for her.
ReplyDeleteSuch emotional story full of different vibes from vibrations ,all are sign of life. ,simple or complex everything to keep us entangled in the life 😊
ReplyDeleteI remember I was in my late teens when I met a girl personally who didn’t have parents and lived with her uncle and aunt. This was first time I realised how fortunate I was to have parents. I really wonder how such children live their life who stay in foster care throughout the life .
Then I feel God has his ways to give everyone moments of their happiness 🥹🥰♥️
