And it all comes down to you

"I didn't know who..who I could talk to?" CW said as he rubbed his hands to warm them. He'd walked all the way to the library in the cold fall dark to see Darry.

"CW, it can't be that bad," Darry reminded him that they were going to go to that haunted house in Glenwood and Crystal said she was driving him. "She didn't mention anything about this Nico."

"Well, things change," CW nodded. "I -- probably said the wrong thing."

"What wrong thing?" Darry was starting to close as he walked around the library to check locked doors and ask if anyone was still in the restrooms.

"I shouldn't have said it," he frowned as if he were the worst. "I don't know why I said it exactly, but..but I said he was just her type and she may of thought I was saying something else."

"Something else?" Darry turned to him.

"I don't want to be mean to her." he looked to be under the weather in his light jacket, but then he'd walked well over a couple of miles and up hill to the library. His hair was wind-tossed and a greasy mess.

"I think you like her and you don't want her talking to anyone else," Darry told him.

"What?" CW grabbed him by the arm as if he had to be wrong.

"I see the way you look at her, and I think she likes you." Darry chuckled.

"No, she doesn't." CW knew he couldn't be wrong.

"Fine," Darry shrugged. "Maybe she's the big sister you never had."

CW pressed his lips into a frown. He winced in thought.

"Just apologize and let it go," Darry gave CW a pat on the back and told him he'd drive him home as soon as the library closed.
