dark thoughts

Ellie fell into a deep sleep. She didn't mean too. Perhaps it had to do with the fact she wasn't exactly sleeping that well when she shared her bed with Lon. It was all so new. Not that he snored, but he did kick ever so often. There was the tendency of rolling about. A few times he kind of talked. Maybe he laughed. It was hard to say. And then there was the hugging. How did he do that in his sleep? It was as if she were his own stuffed animal. This would definitely take some getting used too.

But in her dream she wasn't thinking about Lon even though she did think about him as she drifted off asleep. She was glad he was here. Really, she was amazed to have this chance to be with him. She knew he wasn't like anybody else she'd ever met.

Then she started to think of Leia. And she wondered why she didn't know where she was. No one seemed to know. It bothered her now that she hadn't tried to find Leia. Why hadn't she tried? It had been so long. And she never asked her mother. But she wanted to know the truth? Had they sent her away? Had she ran away?

"You don't know, do you?" It was Leia's mother. "I don't think you want to hear this. But I thought you knew."

Only her mother wouldn't say what happened. She didn't want anyone to know.

"I don't think you want to know." Her mother kept saying over and over and Ellie found herself fighting in her sleep, telling her she wanted to know. Why didn't she want her to know?

"Why would you care?" She could here Leia say, remembering her. How she used to be. "You don't care, anymore."

Ellie kept insisting in her dream that she did care. She really did care.

"I don't think so." Leia's voice echoed through her dream.

Ellie woke up in tears. She went to wash her face then. What did that mean? She hadn't thought of Leia in ages. They'd been so close, and she hated the fact their friendship had ended badly.

"Are you sick?" Roger found her in the bathroom, staring at her as if the worst was inevitable. She knew he was probably thinking she was pregnant.

"No, it was just a bad dream." She wiped her face.

"Was I in it?" He wanted to know.

"No." She shook her head.

"Good," he smiled. "Oh, Lon made us something to put in a flour tortilla." He didn't sound too excited about it. After all, he was the cook around here.

  2. I do hope Ellie is ok, although I suppose her worrying about Leia is a good sign in a way. And haha, Lon doesn't seem to be the most peaceful of sleepers does he?!
