I might be right

Camille felt as if she had to make this up to Asa, somehow, even if she'd been rather silent lately, keeping to herself, at home.

Of course, things weren't much better with Josie.

"Who do you think you are?" Josie was not impressed with Camille's tactics. As it was Josie was making her feel more like the teenager, these days. "Just leave him, alone. Please." At least, Josie made a point of coming over from time to time. But there seemed less and less for them to do.

"You're just saying this, because..you don't know what you'll do, once that baby gets here." Camille snapped back. There was a lot that perturbed her with Josie and her pregnancy project. She didn't want to know the sex of the baby for starters. Camille felt Josie wanted to stay disconnected. "If you're mad at me, just say it."

"Mom, you know, you aren't any good for Asa." Josie told her while they were out grocery shopping one day.

"Don't make my relationships sound like fast food, I can't wait to throw out." Camille didn't like her tone. It was as if Josie didn't know her at all.

"Remember, you said it, Mom." Josie eyeballed her as she was looking at a new Greek yogurt she'd never tried before.

Camille was quiet then as she rethought this with Asa. She wasn't going to give up. She was sure he needed her.

"Just tell me, what Asa likes to eat, please?" She'd do this the old fashioned way. She'd find his heart through his stomach.
