Come hell or high water

come hell or high water

It might have looked like the flu, but Minnie knew what had really happen to her immune system. Blackie got the best of her.

Seriously, she didn't see it coming. Oh, how she'd pined for months..worried sick that her sister was captive somewhere in a far off place, waiting for someone to save her.

Maybe Blackie did. She might never really know. What she did know was the fact, her sister and Blackie were together in California.

Of course, her sister help battle the fires and Blackie treated wild horse. Yes, it was a lovely tale to find in a Christmas card (that she wished she had not opened and returned to sender). Not once did Blackie ask about Wednesday (their daughter) instead was the announcement of the start of their own family.

Yes, they'd been married in Vegas and planned to reside in L.A where they would have a baby in the spring.

Minnie couldn't help but to fall to pieces. Why had she worried so much? Why had she cared? They evidently only wanted to stab her in the heart and leave her in the dust.

She thought she might die. She was in such emotional pain. Of course, she knew she had her own child and Josh's child to take care of. And she did want to go on. Somehow, she would suffice.

Of course, there was Josh, and she was happy to know him. She learned a different kind of love being with him.

It was quiet. It was enduring. And she knew much more powerful than anything she could have ever had with Blackie.

What had she seen in him? There was plenty of time to think on it, laying in a hospital bed, being hooked up to medications to help her stabilize.

She did want to see a new year with her new family.

"This time, there is no stopping." Josh shook his head, as he sat by her hospital bed holding her hand. His hair grew back. He was working in the emergency room now and the hours were decent. He was home at night to help out with the kids. "We can get married come January."

All he had was a simple silver wedding ring to propose with. She smiled back with a nod. She was ready for 2018.
