something in the forecast
Wade woke up to the idea that he might be in trouble. Of course, he'd thought about Jordon far too long. Thinking it was all nothing when all along he thought it was something.
He didn't want to be weird about it, after they did what he wanted. Now, he wondered if Jordon hated him. They weren't exactly keeping in touch.
Of course, he'd followed her around. He knew where Jordon lived. He knew Jordon was still at home.
Wade got on at the carwash like Lux told him too. Between washing cars and washing dishes, he felt awful wet yet never exactly clean. He felt he had to change this. Especially, if Jordon woke up to the fact that maybe even she should join the ME TOO MOVEMENT.
So he showed up at her house and found her Dad looking at the dead car in his driveway.
"Can I take a look?" Wade asked.
Her dad didn't say much, but while Wade was taking a look under the hood he told the best lie he'd ever thought up. How he and Jordon went way back, as if he might be her first love. And then, the engine miraculous started.
Of course, Wade didn't know why it would start. Maybe it wasn't in that bad of shape after all.
But her dad liked him. They had a few beers. Wade sort of told him his troubles. After spending the day with Jordon's dad, Wade found himself a new place to live. And it wasn't the room over the detached garage.
