that little reason
Jordon couldn't decide. Did she hate Wade? Did she love him? It was true, she was torn, a lot like the idea of who she wanted to be.
Of course, it was her father's fault not letting her be him. It was all his fault. Meanwhile, it felt the world was more than the speed of time. Jordon was certain nothing would ever turn out the way it was intended. All this waiting left her having to depend on her father even more. And she hated it. She hated this life. Although, it might not be any better if she could change things and be a son instead of a daughter.
If only she'd been more true to herself, she might have gone to those support meeting like Lux advised. But she would have to forget her Dad and he did still give her a place to live and maybe a car to drive.
Except, it was in the driveway, going nowhere.
Nowhere. It seemed to sum up her life.
After walking around most of the day, playing her guitar in the old town during lunch and playing checkers with some old man in the park, she made her way home.
To her surprise, her dad cooked a roast in the crock pot. They had company. He was making his favorite company meal. Mashed potatoes included.
And there was Wade. All smiles. Her dad was smiling too.
"Girl, its about time you found a job, isn't it?" Her father smirked. She had transportation now. "That boyfriend of yours is something else." Her father grinned. "I think he's a keeper."
