the least dreadful of all
Lux knew no one would know what she was talking about, especially about what was going on at her place. But something was definitely going on with her brother Wade and Jordon. Still, she couldn't let herself think the worst. She didn't want to get into a screaming match with Wade. Especially, if it were over nothing. Yet, it had to be something. Those two were being weird.
Of course, neither had very good communication skills. So maybe that was why she decided to hang out with Evan.
And then Will showed up. Which might have made her day. Of course, she couldn't let that show.
It was probably a one time deal. She knew this might never happen again.
Although, he looked a little shattered, maybe under the weather. But it was nice to look at him. Yet, it was kind of hard when a part of her wanted to pass out from his pure beauty. Perhaps it was her sadness that kept her from speaking out, since she was very well the opposite of him.
Then the chance came along, to hand him over baby Jake. Maybe it was a test. Although, she generally didn't test people with her baby. She usually didn't like anyone holding Jake, not even her brother.
Evan was so-so when it came to the baby. He tended to smile at the baby and maybe hold his hand from time to time, but he didn't really like holding Jake. But with Will, Jake took to him as if he was his long lost...father.
Lux blinked, thinking it was only her imagination. But Jake was so content in Will's lap. And Jake was so well behaved.
"How did you do that?" She asked.
"What?" Will looked at her as if he didn't know he'd be put on the spot for a Q & A session.
"Jake, he-" Lux did her best not to be too happy about it. "He really likes you. You, you just don't look like the type who-who would hold babies."
"Um, we have a few in my family." He then mentioned a step-mom with two sons and they both had families. "I just can't get away from it."
Lux nodded as if it wasn't anything, after all. Still, in her heart, she liked Will more and she knew there was nothing she could do about it.
