those were the days
Angie guessed it hadn't been that long, but Abel was eight now. Yes, she remembered her days of babysitting him and she guessed he hadn't forgotten her either when he saw her at the grocery store. He came around her register and gave her a hug. He was with some curly haired teenager.
"Who's this, your new babysitter?" She didn't see his Dads around.
"Oh, that's Alfie." He grinned. She wondered if his parents had taken up Foster care like Dewey's mom. "He's my cousin and he's come to live with us."
Unfortunately, Alfie seemed quite indifferent. He gave Angie a shrug.
"He's a sophomore in high school." Abel was a wealth of information as he always was. They'd just been to the high school to get Alfie's schedule. Abel asked about Sawyer. Was she still seeing him?
"Oh, not too often." She smiled trying not to let it show how bitter she was about her ex-boyfriend. "I'm seeing someone new." She said they should come over sometime. She would make them dinner.
"You'll make Mexican food?" Abel did like her salsa.
"It was just tacos, you know." She smiled more. It was good to see him again. He gave her another hug. "Maybe, you'll even like Dewey." She knew Abel was never fond of Sawyer. If only she'd listened to Abel then.
