Look what you're doing to me
"You're the one who said you wanted to go back to work," Gordy knew he should have been cautious with his words after he said it. He knew it sounded more like a start of a spat instead of the truth. Especially with the harsh look on Tiffany's face. "Go ahead and stay home, if that's what you want." He wanted to say, but he knew she wouldn't be happy about that either.
It was as if she were envious of him with the new job at the University that was bringing in a lot more money. He was working as much as he could from teaching theater 101 to helping with set design, and still managing to stay up a good portion of the night with the baby.
He just wished she would say something.
If that wasn't enough, she was vaping again. He knew the baby made her nervous.
"But you don't have to be nervous." How many times had this been his comeback line? He wanted her to enjoy this time with the infant, but it was clear she wasn't. The only thing left to say. "Why don't you stay with your mother, for a while." He and Brick would take care of the baby. Gordy was already bringing Beth to the daycare at the University.
He talked to her about going to a doctor, but it was like talking to a statue. When he touched her, it was as if a part of life had already left her. It was sad to watch, but he really had to get going. Time kept churning and waited for no one.
