The Here and Now

Leila didn't have time to think about Ivy's sudden departure. Truth be told, she was glad to see Brian go. She felt a little guilty about this, but when did she have time to feel guilty lately? She worked full time now and it was like taking on a whole new family.

Basically, she took care of her boss Dylan, who always kept her guessing. If that wasn't enough, her ex-husband's nephew showed up at Thanksgiving and hadn't left yet. Cass was looking for work, but he hadn't settled on anything as of yet. She wouldn't push him, even if she wanted too.

She hoped she hadn't pushed Ivy away, but there was so much she could do. If she thought about it long enough, she would be depressed. She knew her mother wouldn't have any of this behavior in her home. But her mother wasn't here. She was the head of the household now, and she did her best to go on with things.

Of course, she didn't know what Christmas would bring. Ivy and Brian might be back together by then. She'd hate for Ivy's baby to grow up without his father. Still, her own two kids had never been around their own father that much even before the divorce.

She hadn't heard from Cho since her divorce. She guessed he was mad at her. As if, it had been all her fault.

So much for tradition, she was thankful to be working. Although, she so much wanted to be in bed by 8 p.m. every night, but that never happened.
