where did the romance go?
Gabby was certain of it now, she hated the holidays. Maybe it was all Ste's fault. He didn't want to go anywhere nor do anything, especially with her new friends. He was definitely becoming an old bear.
She'd gone to a few mixers without him, but she'd minded her manners and even found someone new for Cody to date. Except, Thanksgiving plans fell through for her friend she studied with. Cody was a no-show.
Of course, Gabby didn't have time to dwell on scolding Cody. There was Callum to worry about, and he acted as if nothing had changed. That she still worked for him at the recording studio. On the other hand, there was nothing like the old Callum she remembered, but his attitude. He was a prince who didn't see the need to even have a kingdom, yet he acted as if owned everything.
"I think I'm growing up," she told her sister Macy when she came over to help decorate their parent's house and have some cookie making fun. Gabby noticed how big Macy's stomach was getting. She shut her mouth before she said, "At least I'm not pregnant."
She wasn't so sure she wanted Ste for the long haul. He was set in his ways. She knew she couldn't change him. Nor could she change herself to accept the person he was. Stoic, cold and would rather for her come over to his man cave after midnight and stay for a few hours.
"It's just, I'm not sure Ste will ever grow up." She shrugged before she iced another Christmas cookie.
"Are you going to break up with before the holidays?" Macy wanted to know. After all, she thought that would be a terrible idea.
"Of course not." Gabby's face tensed. Couldn't she just vent about him when he wasn't around? Still, she wondered if they would both be happier with other people.
