just let it go

Natalie had such energy for the holidays, but now that they were over and everything was put away, she had to accept it was winter. Even so, it warmed up like spring. Well, a Nebraska spring. Where it was still cold, yet mild. At least the sun shown. And she was glad there was Cass who seemed quite cheerful at the coffee shop.

Natalie wasn't so sure about her boyfriend, Joon's other relatives. Although, she wanted to be friends with his sister Bom. That hadn't played out as well as to be expected. Bom hooked up with Cody, just down the hall.

Natalie wasn't sure what kind of girl Bom was. Even her name was a bit curious. Just what did that mean? Bom was so different from the girls Natalie knew. Granted, her best friend Holly was a different sort, but she was married now and a new mother. Still, Holly hadn't grown up in the states.

Natalie reminded herself she was very old school. Although, she lived with her boyfriend. She did want to get married. She knew her grandmother expected it. But she wasn't one who dreamed of a fairytale wedding. She'd come to know over the years it was best to save when possible which was unlike a lot of her friends in school and even at the university. Naturally, Natalie carried her grandmother's wisdom in everything she did.

But she felt lacking in all those homemaking skills. Joon did most of the cooking, and she did the cleaning. Thankfully, he helped with the laundry. Really, she did enjoy the mundane things with him.

She was certain this year they would plan on getting married. After all, she wanted to move forward even if it felt like tiny steps, at times.
