the bright lights have faded to blue
Gabby wasn't sure what to do with her life anymore. Yes, she was her own worst enemy and she'd dragged Ollie down with her.
It really wasn't on a significant day when it happened, but she knew she couldn't spend another day with Ste now. Especially, after spending some time with Ollie.
Oh, it wasn't like they spent the night together, yet they'd managed to compact it all in a good twenty minutes of warmth, joy, elation, quaking and then some. She had no idea Ollie was that kind of lover, and yet it might as well be a sickness in her blood now.
There were bouts of dizziness, unsure how to come clean with Ste. She didn't really want him to know about Ollie. After all, she was pretty sure she'd lead the way down this cozy path that was now an ugly thought.
She was a heartbreaker, after all. And it certainly would be a no valentines for Valentina this year.
It left Gabby with a parched throat. She ended up with a fever and slept through all the phone calls and messages that Ste left her.
After all, it was a bleak winter with wind chills and deceptive sunlight. She might as well have hibernated for winter.
Why was she this kind of girl? She'd even turned on Ollie. Told him she knew she wasn't good enough for him and he'd find a way to get Valentina's forgiveness. Maybe he didn't have to tell her at all. Yes, it felt like the thing to do. How could lies grow out of silence?
It was as if she held her breath waiting for Ste's brutal venom. She knew how well he used his fists. Of course, she'd only seen what he could do to others. What would she do to him, or worse what would he do to Ollie?
