all alone
Prom was here. And Ollie asked Sid to go with him.
"But..but what if people think we're a couple?" Sid was reluctant to go.
"I don't care." They were both alone at the moment. After all, Sid never got the opportunity to go when he was in high school. "I'll treat you to a good meal. We'll dance. You'll see, best time of your life." Ollie smirked.
"Dance?" Sid shook his head no to that. No way was Ollie going to let him off the hook. After all, he got a discount on the tuxes. And they were going to have some fun.
Of course, at prom, there was Valentina and her new beau.
"Robby something another-" Ollie felt himself winking about the matter without reason. He just wanted to get out there and dance and say this was the best time of his life. Even if it wasn't. He was still lonely without Valentina. After all, he accepted the fact that he'd never get over. Especially, when he saw her dancing close to the dude Ollie vowed to hate.
"I never felt that when I was dating, Kylie," Sid told Ollie when they left the prom and walked into the cool night air with still a hint of winter, one couldn't shake off.
"It'll happen someday." Ollie promised as they went straight to the mega-groceries for snacks before it was too early to go home.
It was there under the bright lights of the grocery store, where he saw this sassy short girl behind the counter at the dining hall. She was chatting up with a girl much prettier than her, but Ollie couldn't take his eyes off of her. It was as if he was fated to be here. Did he know her from somewhere?
He couldn't think what to say. And he caught her eye. She stared back at him as is she might come over and kick some sense into him. Instead, she swelled a frown.
"I thought you were supposed to work tonight," she snapped.
He shook his head, no. Not sure to stay or to go. Before he knew it, Sid was actually talking to the pretty girl who showed him some bakery goods that were half price. He was actually going to buy something.
Ollie felt a little faint. Possibly, he was losing his memory. He didn't ever remember meeting a girl named Maddie, but she seemed to know a lot about him.
