there he goes

Valentina thought she saw Ollie at prom, but she didn't get a chance to be sure. She was busy with Robby. After all, he was the perfect date. He had a nice car and he brought her a beautiful wrist corsage. It was a wonderful outing. She did feel a part of the night. And it would have made her uncomfortable if Ollie had approached her.

Still, she wondered how he was these days. It was hard cutting off someone she knew so well. Naturally, she remembered those days when he'd ignored her before so she should be used to it.

"Are you sure you had a good time?" She remembered Robby asking. She hoped it wasn't too obvious. She told him she was having a great time. After all, they got ice cream after they left the prom. And she enjoyed that just as much as she did dancing the night away.

Robby always knew what she liked. It was almost a curse to her. She wasn't sure if she liked the idea that he knew her so well. Still, she knew she would have to get used to someone who was a sweet guy. Someone, who didn't give her the cold shoulder. Someone who loved remaining a mystery.

He was talkative and wanted to go places with her. He enjoyed doing nothing at all with her. Like watching TV at home or helping her with all her craft projects. Yes, Robby gave her so much to smile about. Why was she worried about Ollie now?

Valentina was certain she was her own worst enemy.
