on a day like today
Was today the day?
Ivy felt trouble was brewing long before the wave of back aches came to her. As it was, she felt lost these days with so many people around her, especially Brian's family who were staying with them.
It didn't feel real. How could she stop such troubling thoughts?
She was certain now that Jay and Brian's sister were only a facade. She could tell that Brian's little sister was miserable in her situation. Although, she would never say anything to Ivy, about what it might be.
Ivy was full of anguish. She wanted to help her, but how could she when lil' sis would never say what was on her mind. Thankfully, Jay got on with the grocery store. He worked at night filling shelves with canned goods.
Still, Janine looked sad.
"Why can't you tell me what's going?" Ivy felt she needed to shake some sense into that girl.
"It's nothing." Ivy could tell by the crack in Janine's voice that it had to be something.
"Look, we'll help you." Ivy wanted Brian to know that all was not well with Jay and Janine.
"You..you already have." But it felt too late. Especially, when a gush a water shed through Ivy as if this was for real. It was time to stop feeling the need to help someone else when she was the one who needed help. She would be a mother soon.
