here and back, again
"There was a time, I was really worried about you," Ducky said while he watched Xander pack the food in recyclable containers there in the kitchen. Ducky sipped his coffee. No way could he tell Xander this might be a mistake, taking food to the neighbors who moved into the house down the street that had been vacant this past year.
"And?" Xander looked back at him as if he was expecting the worst.
"I know you have good intentions." Ducky shrugged putting his cup in the sink. "I know you want to help everyone. No way have I changed that."
Xander held in a soft laugh and just smiled. True, they didn't see eye to eye on everything, but it was good they were only raising two boys. One would even be out of the house soon.
"We still haven't gone on a vacation," Ducky reminded him. Xander only shrugged and said he didn't need one. He was still going to school on his nurse's training and there was still his business to take care of at the nail salon.
"But I do." Ducky looked at him blankly.
"Then we'll go camping," Xander said they needed to do that at least once this summer before it got hot.
"Camping?" Ducky said he'd never gone camping. Honestly, he didn't want to, but if Xander suggested it, he would at least try. "Just this once though." Ducky didn't want to make it a habit.
