It was true, Rosie was hoping she and Sunny could take advantage of their road trip to spend the night together, but with two dads around and Sunny's brother Sid, Rosie roomed with Cher.
"I never met a Cher before," Rosie found herself saying first thing when they got to their hotel room. (Another thing the Dads were against...motels).
"Well, you're my first Rosie." Cher smiled back. She told her she'd stayed in all sorts of places, but none this nice. She let Rosie wash up first.
Honest Rosie felt a little awkward, not sure what to make of Sid's girlfriend.
"So you guys are really a couple," Oops, Rosie felt she'd slipped again, but she focused on her moisturizer while Cher towel dried her hair.
She only nodded. She said she hadn't had a boyfriend since high school.
"He was the kind of guy who would break up before Christmas and makeup by New Year's. Then he'd break up just before Valentines day. So he basically never bought me a gift." Cher told her.
Rosie was stumped. She didn't know what to say.
"I'm-I'm sure it wasn't your fault," Rosie looked at her a bit bug-eyed.
"I've never met anyone, quite like Sid," Cher smiled. "He's sweet and he's kind. I hear he was dating someone who was dating someone else."
Rosie heard this too. She nodded. Funny, she'd never talked this much to Kylie.
