that's how it is
When Gabby asked Valentina about Homecoming while at the bakery, Valentina couldn't help but be a bit snide. After all, if Valentina could hate anyone it was Gabby.
She hated how Gabby had treated Ste, and of course, how she'd broken up her and Ollie all those months ago. Val had lost all respect for her since Gabby didn't seem to have any respect for anyone, evidently.
"Can't hardly wait," Val smiled as she handed over the last scone to Gabby. It was quiet at the bakery. Even Ste was in back working with tomorrow's dough. "It'll be lots of fun." Val then said ever so happily, "Are you engaged yet? Or will you find a way to mess that up too?" Oh, the mean things Val wanted to say. Still. She doubted Gabby would never understand what an evil person she actually was. "Oh, wait, he'll find out just what a rotten person you really are. Maybe he'll hate your guts and never be able to trust anyone. Isn't that what you're hoping for?"
Val looked at her blankly waiting for her comeback. But she didn't have one. Val quickly made change from the cash register. Gabby couldn't look her in the eye.
"What? Are you afraid of the monsters you've created?" Val couldn't let it go. She thought of what had happened to Ollie. It had been so long since she'd seen him that Val forgot what he'd look like. If Gabby had stayed a moment longer, Val knew she would tell her how much hated her. Gabby didn't stay around to drink her iced coffee. She left ever so quickly.

WOW! I wasn't expecting that!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Valentina!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Val told Gabby off. Awesome girl drama.
ReplyDeleteI do wonder what Gabby will do after this little spat. I hope she won't do anything bad to Valentina.
ReplyDeleteShe really did need to be confronted.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your thoughts!
