a friend indeed
It upset Ste so when he first heard about Gabby gone missing. He was certain it was all his fault. But How? Amira assured him he had nothing to do with it.
Jaxon was there too. He couldn't do anything these days without his half-brother around. There was so much he needed to embrace and he didn't want Amira to think he still had feelings for Gabby. After all, she'd left him a fool. Of course, he didn't know her whereabouts.
Macy kept her cool, of course, she did have her little ones to look after and her husband. "We just hope she'll figure it out before it's too late."
He didn't want to think about it too much, but he didn't want to forget Amira, either. He did his best to have her close by. Nothing was going to spoil their Halloween. There was a party at the bakery planned. It would be good food and friends, as well as customers and lots of freebies.
This was his community now. And he had family which wasn't Gabby, after all. But still, he found himself praying too that she would come home, unharmed.
"I think I'm a better person because of you," he told Amira. He knew his love for her was genuine and something he couldn't help but perpetuate. They were good for each other. "Don't you forget that I love you." Of course, he wanted to be with her, but he would wait. He would be the friend she needed and he hoped some day they would start a family when the time was right.
