Happy Halloween!

Robby missed Val's smile. She'd been down since Homecoming. Thinking it was all her fault about Gabby running away. Still, no one had seen that redhead around.

"Everyone told you its not your fault," Robby wanted to shake some sense into her, but he hugged her instead.

At least there was Halloween and all of the crew at the bakery were making a night of it for the neighborhood. Of course, she wouldn't dress up. Neither did he, but they were there to do crafty things with the kids and whoever wanted to make paper bats and pumpkins.

He was glad he was there with Val. After awhile, she started to smile and have fun with everyone on the Halloween celebration.

He hoped she would keep it up her spirits and they would be up to their Friday nights together and other adventures with school and friends.

Maybe even his father was getting in on the fun. He spotted him with Val's mom. Yet, he didn't want to think what happened.

He shook his head.

"What's going on?" Val wanted to know.

He shrugged, hating to tell her that most women his father dated his dad ended up marrying.
