the thought of the holidays

Xander was expecting the worst after Rosie showed up on Black Friday with her friend Chance.

She asked if he'd heard from Sunny. She hadn't.

He told her it was brief. Sunny was working on some paper and was on the go with the company he  was interning.

Somehow, it looked like the beginning of the end to him. Perhaps it was just the holidays. He got a little melancholy. He didn't mean too.

Still, he was glad Rosie had someone to spend Thanksgiving with. Chance seemed reasonable enough. But he hated to think of Sunny and Rosie broken apart. He felt they'd been good for each other, yet there was an expiration for everything.

Just like Jamie and Effy. That was clearly over and there was nothing he could do about it.

Besides, there were Christmas dinners and parties to get too. He'd been busy trying to find the right gifts for the boys. He definitely didn't want to over do it. Instead, he's arranged for each of them to give back through volunteering. Of course, if Sunny was here he'd expect the same from him.

Honestly, he felt he'd lost touch with Sunny and it hurt and there was no one who could help him get through this, but to go on and make the most of this Christmas.
