Love is a battlefield

Jay hadn't thought this far ahead. He'd been striving to be with Ivy and it worked out so well, until now.

Now he was at a loss. He hadn't meant for this to happen. He didn't think Brian could be this cruel. After all, he'd dreamed of being Keanu's dad. Oh, he was certain he could handle the job so much better than his so-called best friend. Of course, Jay guessed they weren't best friends anymore.

And then to be thrown out and all on their own..so suddenly. What the hell was this?

There wasn't a thing in his fridge to eat in his little place over Minnie and Josh's garage. There was only a sink, along with a bathroom that held a shower. It wasn't exactly the comforts of home maybe that was why he hated being alone there.

And now all he could do to pacify Ivy was to hold her and show he did love her. But she wasn't in the mood.

He wanted to think it would get better, but it had suddenly fallen apart and he didn't know what to do. There was only Minnie to go to and she gave him an earful. Naturally, she didn't make him feel any better about the situation.

"You better find a way to get those two back together," she told him that would be the right thing to do.

"But..but what if I don't want too," he couldn't let Ivy go. He needed her.

"If you love her, you'll let her go. Don't be the problem. Be the solution," was the wisdom she gave him along with some milk, bread, peanut butter and whatever leftovers she kept in her fridge. She sounded certain that his friend would never forgive him.

Only Jay couldn't listen to her. He was numb from the day, the cold. It was as if nothing would ever change. Tomorrow was another frigid day.

  1. I wonder what will happen next. Maybe she will go back to Brian.
