In the time of isolation

What were the odds of romance? Lynsey found herself thinking quite often just how it came to be that she would be stuck at home with Casey (actually, his home..not hers).

1. Her parents flew off to Arizona about 2 weeks ago and were now  stuck at her sister's in quarantined due to her sister's husband getting home from some military duty overseas. So they were all together along with her sister's toddlers.)

2. Casey didn't like the idea of her being alone. "But aren't we supposed to keep our distance, right now?" She'd said at the time about the matter. Naturally, he informed her they could keep their distance at his place. After all, he had a guestroom that had never been used.

Oh, she should have expected it from the get-go. There would be no romance.

Casey was quite the germaphobe. Lynsey winced now cleaning up breakfast while Casey was on a conference call. Yes, evidently he always worked from home.

A part of her felt she'd always be the girl stuck in the kitchen cleaning while everyone else in the world could at least be binge-watching their favorite show during such harsh times. Lynsey sighed, yes even in the worst of times she would still be doing what she always did, cleaning and of course, organizing.

"What are you doing?" Casey asked when he got off the phone. He looked hurt that she was doing the kitchen chore all on her own.

"You stay there," she told him as she put another pot of coffee on. At this rate, she'd be wide awake at two in the morning, but she did love coffee and she would drink the fresh pot all on her own if he didn't want any. "We have to keep our distance."

He nodded, but she wasn't sure he would abide by it. He went to turn on the TV, but he didn't wait for the latest news of all the hot spots of the virus. He clicked on the app that she watched most of her dramas on.

She was in the middle of KILL ME HEAL ME.

"I dunno," she didn't think he should watch this one. "That's a drama about a psychiatrist who falls in love with a guy with seven personalities." She gritted at the thought of mentioning Casey's invisible friend. That alone would make a great drama, which she was in at the moment..and that was quite boring.

"Oh." He stared at the TV blankly.

She poured him a cup of black coffee along with one for herself that she poured a little milk in. Lynsey made sure not to touch his coffee that was left on the counter. She sat on her end of the couch.

"Let's watch the one about the cat that turns into a guy," she smiled. Nothing crazy like that would ever actually happen.

"That's just silly," Casey told her, but he clicked into the second episode on her watch history.

Lynsey took a sip of her coffee. This is such a slow burn of  a drama, Lynsey thought about her situation with Casey.
