We're gonna be friends
Casey didn't know if he wanted to explain it to Lynsey. Honestly, he'd practically forgot he was even there, anymore.
"What do you mean?" Lynsey questioned Casey over his morning coffee. "You aren't seeing me, anymore?"
Casey closed his eyes and imagined Lynsey wasn't there. He definitely needed some alone time to think about the other Linsey he'd met.
"No." Casey squinted hard wishing Lynsey would just stop bothering him.
It had been spontaneous laughter with Linsey. They'd made dinner together. Of course, it was nothing fancy, but it had been cozy and good to have someone here who wanted to talk to him, who wanted to help clean up and tidy the kitchen with him.
She was full of ideas of organizing the kitchen. He liked her. Plain and simple.
"Are you going to be friends with her?" Lynsey wanted to know.
"Yes, of course, I am." He sighed. "She needs me." When in actuality, it was probably Casey who needed her.
Casey smiled as he took a sip of his steaming creamed coffee. He couldn't wait to see Linsey again. He looked at the time on his phone. He wanted to text her right now.
