that's how it is
It was grilling season, and that meant smoked meat to Omaha. Naturally, he was ready for it with his new electric smoker he got with the stimulus check. After all, he was working from home these days. He might as well have been the father of the year.
Sheena had to let him grill this weekend, even if all of May was so gloomy. Of course, his closest friends wouldn't be here due to staying at home these days. His go-to friend these days was Josh and he was stuck at the hospital working, but at least Minnie his wife was up for Memorial Day.
"Now, don't you go inviting those neighbors of yours," he told her. He didn't want to know anything going on with that no good for nothing Jay.
"I don't even see him these days," Minnie told him all was quiet and Ivy was getting to spend some time with her baby son, finally.
Oh, all these women troubles made Omaha a little sad. Of course, he'd been raised by his mother and grandmother. So, he guessed he'd have to man up spend the holiday with Minnie and Sheena and the kids.
"I need my time with the smoker," he informed both of them.
"I know," Sheena told him he'd reminded her of this several times over the past few years. And Minnie was in charge of the sides. "I'll make a pot of beans," He told her everything went better with pinto beans and fresh jalapenos.
Sheena rolled her eyes at anything spicy. He was surprised she hadn't gone vegan yet. It was just a matter of time. She wasn't fond of his baby-back ribs like Minnie. Sheena did like chicken legs and corn on the cob from the smoker.
Honestly, he was surprised she'd stayed with him this long and his summer holiday ways. But they were a family, and they had another baby on the way, in spite of these resolute times.
