fade into you

Brian didn't understand how Bom could be so cold to Cody. But she didn't even acknowledge she knew him.

Of course, he was happy to hear that Brian knew him. Cody was looking for something emotional to help him have some kind of breakthrough during his stay at the hospital. All Brian could say was that he was a good guy.

Bom said nothing but got on her cell and called his mother. After a bit of chit chat, she was off her cell as she leaned against the sterile hallway, out of sight from Cody.

"What are you doing?" Brian whisper shouted. Didn't Cody mean anything to her now?

She remained even lipped and reminded him they'd traveled this far for Ivy, not to find her ex-boyfriend who'd been in a coma all these months.

"Yes, I know its horrible. It's horrible that he ended up on the side of the road without any clue as to who he was." She still found it strange his fingerprints weren't in a database somewhere. She shook her head as if they both needed to focus.

"He said some hurtful things to me," she winced. "It's too late to start over." After all, she was with Brian and Keanu and they were a family. "Cody has his mother. He needs her. Not me."

She reminded Brian they needed to get Ivy home. She was coming home with them. No way was Bom going to let Ivy go back to Jay's apartment. Who knew, a renegade might be after her. It wasn't like the cops had caught this Lenny yet.

"What?" Brian hadn't agreed to Ivy staying with them. He winced hard as if this would be the worst possible solution.

"We have to take it slow. Maybe Ivy and her mother will somehow be civil again," but Bom said she wasn't counting on it.

"Remember, you have to be thankful Ivy's mom could help get you a job at her boyfriend's warehouse." She told him there weren't many places opened during this pandemic. He needed to get back to work.

Bom checked in her bag to make sure there were still enough masks for them to wear home. Had Brian forgotten about COVID 19 too?
