A cold day in February

 Chevy winced at Mick's text.

IT'S REALLY GOING TO HAPPEN THIS TIME.

Chevy shook his head, no. He was back at work now, but he might as well be a zombie. Of course, Simon caught COVID too. The only person he knew at work who didn't get it was Declan. Of course, he was a cad as usual. Always ordering everyone around. Naturally, they neither said much to each other which was OK with Chevy.

Of course, Chevy thought he might be depriving Simon of something. He didn't know what exactly. After all, they were just roommates. He was feeling that was all they would be.

But he felt like an insider, knowing everything about Jools and Mick's relationship. It kind of made him happy that they hadn't had sex yet. Was he just weird or what?

"What are you smirking about?" Declan caught him off guard in the thin hallway on the way to the breakroom.

Chevy looked up at him as if he was baffled Declan would say anything to him.

"Probably getting little love notes, aren't you?"

Chevy was closed mouth.

Declan hugged himself and didn't take his eyes off Chevy.

"You can tell that boyfriend of yours that it's over for me and Reese." Declan gave him an earful that Reese was seeing his old friend Adam. Evidently, they were inseparable.

Chevy only listened. He could see how hurt Declan really was, but he didn't have the confidence to even say he was sorry because Chevy really wasn't sorry about anything.

  6. Mick is so optimistic about Jools...I hope it all works out. And Declan is such an interesting character. I can't remember what happened with Reese, but man...that's gotta hurt that Reese is with Adam.
PS Thanks for the heads up about all these dramas, Ellie! I've yet to see a C-drama (have only seen some horror movies) but Cupid's Kitchen sound pretty interesting! And I didn't get to watch much of the Winter Olympics because of the whole truckers' convoy thing that was happening in our province.:(

    1. Hmm is declan a jerk? I may not know the backstory though... Quite possible..he was Simon's boyfriend but he always lived with Reese who supported him (gave him a place to live rent free..they'd been friends since high school and deep down Simon never liked the fact that Declan lived with his so called "soulmate/best friend".

  9. Of course Declan's the only one who didn't catch COVID! And also, of course, he's still being a cad. I did summon a wee bit of sympathy for him being dumped by Reese. But mostly I thought, what goes around comes around. I hope things can move forward with Simon and Chevy. :)

  13. Never being sorry might sound good, but in the end it dehumanizes a person.
