She's so bad, but she does it so well

 

How could she say no? Just how? Zelli was furious with Yuki. Didn't Yuki know she was the best thing she'd met in a very long time?

Oh, it felt real from the get-go. Zelli knew what she needed and they couldn't help but want each other. Didn't Yuki see it that way? Yeah, this was grownup stuff, not kissing in the girl's dressing room back in high school when all along she'd just been somebody's  'oh you were just practice'.

Zelli wanted to figure out how to make this right with Yuki.

"I just can't," she'd said and Zelli didn't think it was a fight there in Yuki's room, although she'd grabbed her wrist as if she'd better come with her or else. Wasn't she important enough?

"We could have a great life, somewhere else." Zelli was certain of. She knew Emily was bringing her down. Good old mousy Em who had a boyfriend. What was so important here?

Yuki said she had to have this job. It was stable. She got insurance.

"But, but you could find that somewhere else," Zelli kept looking at Yuki as if she was the most important person in her life.

"I have to be the responsible one. I..I..um.." Finally, she admitted that Zelli having a motorcycle scared her. "What if..what if something happens?"

"Nothing is going to happen." 

She was a safe driver. She'd been riding a bike since she was sixteen. Didn't that count for something? A good ten years. 

"Maybe ..maybe you are ..a great driver," Yuki admitted that she felt safe with Zelli.

"See," she jumped back to the idea of their road trip to Florida.

Yuki shook her head, no. "What if..what if we both get hurt. People..."

Zelli kissed her hard. She'd make it count. Didn't she know she was just what Yuki needed? She would be all Yuki would ever need.
