That was just a dream

 

Oh, it felt like a party all weekend long, Yuki and Em found out the baby would be a girl. There was Melissa and Riley to help celebrate. Really it felt as if it was all coming together.

"I don't know why you waited so long to find out?" Riley couldn't help but ask Em.

"It just felt right to wait," she said about her growing baby bump. Of course, she mentioned how delighted Axton was about the matter, as well. "He keeps telling me he was raised by women." She finally confessed that she was certain the baby would be a boy, and it was a surprise to her. 

"And Axton will keep on living here?" Riley wanted to know while she was helping Em around the house to tidy up.

"I don't really know," Em shrugged about the matter. "I have a feeling he wants to be here when the baby arrives, but he and Chili have gotten closer." Em said he usually stayed with Chili on the weekends.

"I'm glad you have family close," Riley finally said what had been on her mind for a very long time. "I'd like to have a baby."

"Really?" Em couldn't help but to be thrilled.

"I'm not sure Melissa would like it," she winced. Melissa was off with Yuki to visit Jen and Amy.

"Why not?" Em said as she put the last of the dishes away from the dishwasher.

"Well, she is a very fine Auntie, but I'm not sure she's really baby proof," Riley said as she shook her head, no. Riley loved children. That's why she thrived in the S.T.E.M program at the library. She used to have her own little business on the weekends with such programs, but that had waned since she'd moved in with Melissa. "I think a lot of her,  in so many ways, but when it comes to wanting to start a family she shies away. I don't want to push her."

"Could you adopt?" Em suggested.

"I guess, but I know that would upset her too. I don't really know what to do," Riley shrugged with a smile and then told Em how she'd always wanted Brandon's baby, but she knew that was just a silly dream.
