"Let's not worry about it too much," Yuki said over hot tea in the kitchen with Em. It felt like a late start to the new year, but she was glad to have one more day off. Em had a doctor's appointment and Yuki was going with her. Axton was still at Chili's.
"They could have stayed here, you know," Em said about the matter of those two, but that wasn't all Em was worried about.
"Oh, they need some alone time, I couldn't say they would feel all that alone in the basement here," Yuki shrugged about the matter.
Em agreed. She went to get some leftover pie from the fridge. Of course, they both looked at it as if maybe it was time for Mr. Squirrle to finish it off. Yuki got out the left over strawberries and they feasted on bagels with cream cheese.
"What about Jen?" Em sighed as if Christmas was nothing like Jen anticipated.
"Well, I know she wanted to be at Stan's." Yuki was certain of it. Of course, there hadn't been any day outs with Amy.
"I wanted to help, but really those two need to do some things alone," Em said she thought shopping would be fun, but Jen just about wasted the whole time sitting in their livingroom watching the Today show as if it were the thing to do.
"Hopefully, it'll work itself out," Yuki said right before Melissa called to ask what they were up to.
Melissa said they'd been working most of the holiday. She said it didn't even feel like a holiday vacation. "But we have off this weekend." She said they were coming up.
"Could we stay with you guys?" She asked.
"Yeah, that would be great." Yuki told her.
After she got off the phone, "I think we could run a bed and breakfast." She chuckled.
"At least, we can tell Jen we don't have time for her this weekend," Em shrugged with a smile.
"Maybe we can send Axton over to Stan's and see what's really going on," Yuki thought maybe Stan might need some back up about now, but Yuki wanted to stay out of it.
yeah sometimes people just need a few moments without their friends and family
ReplyDeleteAgree with Yuki
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's good to be ... alone.
ReplyDeleteHoliday shenanigans! I'm glad they're having company. It's a good time of year for that.
ReplyDeleteAxton and chili are spending time together...
Genial fragmento. Me gusto. Pienso como Yuki. Te mando un beso.

Delegating the task of understanding what happens in other people's lives to a third party is the first step to many confusions.
ReplyDelete(ꈍᴗꈍ) Poetic and cinematographic greetings.
💋Kisses💋
Lovely chapter. I don't blame Yuki for wanting to stay out of it all. Sometimes we don't need to be involved in everything that is going on around us.
ReplyDeleteEm and Yuki should run a B&B, LOL! As always, they're so kind to fuss over all their friends. Also, I love how you worked the strawberry theme into the collage. 🍓😍🍓😍🍓😍
ReplyDeleteI just read your comment about your husband, and I don't know what to say. What a scary situation. I know cellulitis can be very serious, and what you said about COVID maybe having contributed to it is horrifying. I'm so glad that you were able to call 911 in time, and that your husband's being cared for in rehab. You're so incredibly strong and brave, and he's so lucky to have you. I'll be keeping you both in my thoughts and hoping for a full recovery.
